Selling on Instagram in Saudi Arabia? Your Store Still Needs to Be Verified.

Many sellers in Saudi Arabia think the rules only apply to "real" online stores. If orders come through Instagram or WhatsApp, surely it doesn't count?

It does. How you receive orders doesn't change what you are doing: selling commercially. The same legal cover applies.

What you need

• Saudi individuals: a freelance document, if your activity is eligible.
• Businesses: a commercial registration (CR).
• Verification: store verification moved from Maroof to the Saudi Business Center. It needs a valid CR or freelance document plus a linked bank account.
• Some products need more: food, cosmetics and perfumes, supplements and imported goods can require extra approvals.

Why verification matters for sales, not just compliance

A verified store answers the buyer's first question: "Can I trust this seller?" On Instagram, a buyer only sees photos and a DM button. On a website, you can show your verification, your return policy, clear prices and real contact details in one place.

That's the difference between a page that looks like a hobby and a store that looks like a business.

A simple path

1. 1Get the right legal cover: freelance document or CR.
2. 2Verify through the Saudi Business Center.
3. 3Put a website in front of your Instagram, with your verification visible.
4. 4Send your ads and bio link to the site, not your DMs.
